Chairman of the Board of Directors of Virtual Arrays — Lev Leytes
From ___ to 2000, Mr. Leytes was the Principal Founder, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of LJL Biosystems, Inc. He was responsible for strategy, executive team building, venture capital financing, IPO on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange in 1998, and merger with Molecular Devices (NASDAQ: MDCC) in 2000, creating a combined enterprise with a market capitalization exceeding $1 billion upon merger. Mr. Leytes holds an M.S., Engineering, Moscow Engineering Institute.

J. Gordon Foulkes, Ph.D. — is currently the Executive Vice President of Research & Development and Director of Elitra Pharmaceuticals, San Diego. Prior to joining Elitra, Dr. Foulkes served as Chief Technical Officer of Aurora Biosciences Corporation, a biotechnology company, from 1996 to 1998, and Chief Scientific Officer of Oncogene Science, Inc., a biotechnology company, from 1987 to 1996. From 1981 until 1987, Dr. Foulkes held academic positions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and The Medical Research Council in the United Kingdom. Dr. Foulkes holds a Ph.D. from the University of Dundee in Scotland.

Daniel Janey — is a general partner of the venture firm, Alta Partners, San Francisco. Prior to Alta, he was a senior investment banker at Montgomery Securities. His responsibilities included public offerings, strategic advisory assignments and advice on mergers, acquisitions and divestitures for life science companies. Previously, Mr. Janney was at Bankers Trust Company in the leveraged buyout/private equity group. Mr. Janney sits on the Board of several companies including, Dynavax Technologies, DiscoveRx, Corgentech, Inc., and TransMedics, Inc. He holds a B.A. from Georgetown University and an M.B.A. from the Anderson School at the University of California, Los Angeles.

John Freund, M.D. — is the founder and a general partner of Skyline Ventures, Palo Alto, California. John has been a founder of a number of companies backed by venture capital firms including Zyomyx, Triad, and Intuitive Surgical (NASDAQ:ISRG) He was previously a senior executive of Acuson Corporation. He was also a general partner in two different venture capital funds and the co-founder of the Healthcare Group in the Corporate Finance Department of Morgan Stanley in New York, New York. He received a B.A. from Harvard College and an M.D. from Harvard Medical School. He also received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar and won the Loeb Fellowship in Finance as well as the Entrepreneur of the Year Award for a business he founded while in business school. He serves on the board of Allos Therapeutics Inc., (NASDAQ: ALTH), DiscoveRx Corp., MediVance, Inc., Nimblegen Systems, Reconstructive Technologies, Inc., Triad Therapeutics, Inc., XenoPort and Zyomyx,Inc. and was previously on the board of LJL Biosystems prior to its acquisition by Molecular Devices.

Jeff Bird M.D., Ph.D. — is a general partner of Three Arch Partners, Palo Alto, California, a venture capital firm. Prior to joining Three Arch, Jeff was Senior Vice President, Business Operations at Gilead Sciences, a public biotechnology company (NASDAQ: GILD). In that role he had responsibility for the companyÕs commercial and operations groups, including Sales & Marketing in the US and Europe. He led the formation of corporate alliances with Glaxo Wellcome, Pharmacia & Upjohn, Roche, and American Home Products. He also managed the $550 million acquisition of NeXstar Phamaceuticals. Jeff received a BS in Biological Sciences from Stanford University. He completed his MD, and a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, at Stanford University Medical Center.

Mark Weeks — is a general partner of Venture Law Group, Menlo Park (1993). Prior to joining Venture Law, Mark worked at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Mark's practice at VLG emphasizes the corporate representation of emerging growth companies like Virtual Arrays, venture capital firms and investment banks. Mark Weeks received his B.A. from Williams College in 1983 and graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1987, where he was Articles Editor for the Santa Clara Computer and High Technology Law Journal and Co-Chairman of the Santa Clara Moot Court competition.
